Craig A. Davis has practiced law in Washington, Iowa since 1987. He joined this law firm in 1990. Craig has a bachelor’s and law degree from the University of South Dakota. Following admission to the Iowa Bar in 1986 he clerked for the Honorable J. L. Larson of the Iowa Supreme Court for one year. Craig has served on the Board of Directors of the Community Chest and the Washington Chamber of Commerce. He served one term on the Washington City Council. He is a member and past President of the Washington Rotary Club. Craig is currently a member of the Washington County Bar Association and the Iowa State Bar Association.

  Robert Schlegel concentrates his practice in the areas of probate, real estate, and taxation. He earned a B.F.A. degree from the University of Iowa and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, Sacramento, CA.  Robert serves as a trustee in the US Bankruptcy Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. He is a member of the Washington County Bar Association, Iowa Bar Association, Federal and American Bar Associations, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Mr. Schlegel is admitted to practice in Iowa, Colorado, and the US District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.

 Kathryn J. Salazar has been practicing law in Washington, Iowa since 2000. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Iowa and her law degree from The University of Missouri-Columbia. Kathy has served on many local boards including Washington Main Street, Washington Chamber of Commerce, Washington Music Boosters, Washington County Hospital Foundation and Washington Farmer’s Market Committee. She was elected to the Washington City Council for one term and served on the Iowa Supreme Court Commission on the Unauthorized Practice of Law.  She is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association.  

Katie M. Lujan joined the law firm in 2001. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a law degree from Drake University. Katie has practiced in Washington since she was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 2001. Katie has served on committees for the Washington Chamber of Commerce and is an elder of the United Presbyterian Church. She is engaged in the many activities of her three daughters. Katie is a member of the Washington County Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association. She has also served on the Eighth Judicial District’s Nominating Committee and the Grievance Commission of the Iowa Supreme Court.

  Eric Schmitt has practiced law since 2015. He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Upper Iowa University. Eric received his law degree with distinction from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining the law firm in 2018, Eric was an associate attorney at Buchanan, Bibler, Gabor, & Meis in Algona, Iowa. Eric is admitted to the US Tax Court and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.

 Joseph L McConnell joined the law firm in 1977 and became “of counsel” in 2022. He received his bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Iowa and has a MPA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. Joe has been active in civic affairs and has served as president of the Washington Economic Development Group and the Washington Public Library Board. He was instrumental in starting the Saturday Kitchen as a free meal offered weekly. He is a member and past president of Noon Kiwanis and elder of the United Presbyterian Church. Joe is a member of the Washington County Bar Association and the Iowa State Bar Association.
